Cosmos Corner

Ten minutes into the lecture the eyes were already wandering off.
Not because it was a boring lecture, but because the brain wanted something else. The two pupils raced in unison across the ceiling, down the wall, past the windows and then stopped. In the corner of a window was a shimmer. A small shimmer that shimmered oh so vividly.
It was colorful. So very colorful.

The eyes, along with the face, the head and the neck, inched closer.
Silhuettes started to appear in the shimmer. Silhuettes of round shapes. Some of them glowing, others less vibrant. The space in the shimmer expanded, along with the shrinking distance between it and the eyeballs. A likeness appeared in the brain. This started to look like something. Something never truly witnessed but often watched. The round shapes looked like planets. The glowing ones where stars. It was a tiny universe in the corner of a window.
It was… unexpected.
The hand wanted in on the action and rose quickly towards the shimmering. Just a few more inches and the universe could be touched and explored further. Eyelids made way for protruding eyes. Just a little bit more. The fingertips where ready for a new sensation. But...
THUD!

The eyes, along with the hand, the brain and the body of which they belonged to, was on the floor.
A carefully calculated sweep had been performed, by the foot of another body, upon the chair. Laughing engulfed the room and the shimmering universe in the corner of the window was no longer there.
A thought went through the brain: Was it ever?
